COMMON NATURAL FIBRES: WOOL, SISAL, JUTE, COTTON, COIR, VELVET, BAMBOO.
To determine which type of carpet you have, our technicians use a method which requires removing a small bit of fabric (on the stairs there are usually loose bits we can use) and burning it.
They have passed training courses and learned to recognise the different smells from different materials, and they assess the way the material feels after burning it. Some carpets are made of a mixture of natural and synthetic materials. In this case we will treat the carpet as a natural carpet to ensure that no damage is done it.
If we are cleaning a synthetic carpet, we can use a higher pH cleaning product and a higher temperature, for a deeper clean. Synthetic fabric will only absorb 8% of spillages (and cleaning products) so it is easier to remove stain from and will also dry more quickly after the cleaning. For synthetic carpets we can use spots and stain remover products, close to bleaching, to remove stain.
COMMON SYNTHETIC FIBRES: NYLON, ACRYLIC, POLYESTER, POLYPROPYLENE, RAYON.
If we are cleaning a carpet made with natural materials, we must use a maximum of 8 pH to make sure we will not damage the carpet and keep the colour safe. The natural material fabrics absorb 30% of cleaning products and spillages - so that means it will take longer to dry.
We cannot use the usual spots and stain remover products as they are too strong and could damage the carpet. We have lower PH products to use for the natural materials.
After the carpet has been cleaned, we use a pH meter to check that the pH level of the material is back at a normal level. We highly recommend for your carpet to be cleaned once a year to prevent a build-up of dust and bacteria, particularly if you have a wool carpet.

How to Remove Stains from Carpets and Rugs
Carpet stain can vary from a little speck of marker pen to a large patch of spilled red wine or bleach, but even the smallest of stain can be noticeable and make your premium carpet cleaning look grubby, even if it is not!
There is an art to removing stain from carpets and we consider ourselves experts here at Premium Clean as we have been removing stain from carpets and rugs for over two decades, with many happy customers.
First, we would like to advise you how to avoid stain and having to call in a
professional – If you have a spillage at home on the carpet or rug, it is very important to mop up as much of the stain as you can, immediately. The longer a stain is left on or in the carpet, the more difficult it will be to remove.
How to Remove Carpet Stains Before Professional Cleaning
We do not recommend using shop bought carpet cleaning products or
stain removers as using the wrong type of chemicals on different fabrics of carpets, can cause more damage than good. We advise that you dab a clean piece of kitchen towel on the spillage, to soak up as much liquid as possible.
You will need to keep repeating this process until little or none of the spillage is coming up onto the piece of kitchen towel and then you can rinse the area with clean water and repeat again. Then it is a good idea to lay a fresh sheet on the area and leave it there just in case any more lifts, and then vacuum when the area is dry.
Be careful not to scrub the carpet as scrubbing can actually spread the stain or even cause damage to the fibres in the carpet. If you are quick off the mark and don’t rush the process, hopefully there will be no long-lasting stain on your carpet, but if you do have stain that haven’t quickly been seen to or didn’t come up with the kitchen towel, Premium Clean are here to help you.

Why We Recommend Full Carpet Cleaning for Stain Removal
We usually recommend that you go for the full carpet clean if you require stain removal, because if we only clean the stain, it will come up perfectly clean but may not exactly colour match the rest of the carpet if that isn’t already sparkling clean too. However, if you have recently had your carpet cleaned, we can carry out stain removal as a standalone service. We will describe the process of a full carpet clean below.
Carpet Inspection and Fabric Identification
On the day, our qualified technician will arrive and the first thing they will do is a burns test to determine which type of fabric your carpet is made from.
What Is a Carpet Burn Test?
This involves locating a small piece of loose fabric or cutting off a tiny piece from a completely unnoticeable place and burning it. This may sound alarming, but don’t worry. All of our technicians are fully insured and highly trained to ensure this is done correctly and without causing any harm to your carpet.
They then waft the burning fabric to extinguish the flame and use their senses of smell and touch to establish which fabric your carpet is made from and which products and machinery should be used.
The Carpet Cleaning Process
Vacuuming and Pre-Treatment
Next, they will vacuum to ensure any dirt on the surface is removed and complete a pre-clean of the carpet. This is also when we begin to target any tough stain removal from rugs and carpets.
Stain Removal and Carpet Pre-Spray Treatment
This involves spraying a solution onto the carpet which will penetrate deep into the fibres over approximately 10 minutes. It is important to allow the solution enough time to work effectively.
Steam Cleaning, Shampooing and Deodorising
We then blot the stain with a clean, white cloth before using our professional steam cleaning machine, which operates at temperatures of up to 120 degrees. This process shampoos and deodorises the carpet, removes odours and helps eliminate bacteria.
Removing Stubborn Carpet Stains
If there are any remaining stubborn stains after the steam cleaning process, we use a powerful spot treatment. This follows a similar process to the one described above and is designed to tackle more persistent marks.
Carpet Drying Times and Turbo Dryers
After this, we allow the carpets to dry. Drying times can take up to 24 hours depending on the room conditions, including temperature and airflow, as well as the material of the carpet. For a small additional fee, we can set up our turbo dryers, which can reduce drying times to approximately 30 minutes.
Dry Carpet Cleaning Services
When Dry Carpet Cleaning Is Recommended
We also offer a dry carpet cleaning service, which is required for certain carpet types. This process involves working a dry shampoo into the carpet by hand and then using a specialist roller machine to embed the powder into the fibres. The powder lifts dirt, grime and debris, which are then removed using our high-performance vacuum cleaner.
While this method may be slightly less effective than steam cleaning, it still delivers excellent results and leaves your carpet looking clean, fresh and revitalised.

Stain removal products have different PH levels and it very important to choose the correct product depending on which type of carpet you have. For example, on a wool fabric treatment or sisal carpet, we will only stain removal products with a maximum of pH level 8 so that we do not cause any damage or discolouration.
The products and machinery that we use here at Premium Clean are all made by industry leader Prochem, who provide specialised, eco-friendly products that are totally safe for allergy sufferers, children and animals. We have many different machines too that we choose, mostly depending on the size of the room we are cleaning and whether the carpet is natural or synthetic.
Our biggest machine that we use for domestic cleaning is the Prochem Steempro Powermax, which is a high-power steamer with 2 vacuum motors and a, regulated pressure pump. We use this machine when we are going to clean many carpets in one house.

Carpet Repair and Carpet Colour Restoration Services
Unfortunately, some stain are well beyond cleaning but do not fear – we offer two types of carpet repairing here at Premium Clean which are the colour carpet repair for discoloured carpets or the full carpet repair for damaged carpets.
We will be able to repair any carpet for you and the original stain will not be in the slightest bit noticeable.
Carpet discolouration can be caused by many things such as spillages of bleach, shop bought carpet cleaning products, sun damage and general wear and tear. If your carpet is discoloured but not damaged, this is when we complete our colour carpet repair.
The full carpet repair is completed when there has been damage to the fibres or where there are missing fibres, our technicians will be able to advise you which option you will need to go for.
Carpet repairing can be a little time-consuming as it involves a lot of work and this process has to be very exact. The technician will locate an exact match of fabric, colour match, cut out the damaged carpet and then cut the new piece of carpet to fit exactly in the space which is then glued in and heated to ensure it stays down and blends in.
It sounds very complicated but we can assure you that all our technicians who do this have taken many training courses and had lots of practice before they will touch your carpet.

Fantastic job done by the whole team on 02/10/25. We had a one off deep clean, plus carpet and sofa steam cleaning. The whole flat is sparkling. Perfectly punctual arrival and everyone worked very hard throughout the day, and were cheerful and friendly. Such attention to detail; the oven, grill, microwave and cooker hood are all spotless now. Great work on bathroom limescale.Top job as well on the staircase – we have light carpet by the front door and it looks good as new after being cleaned – before and after shots shown. I hope the photos do their work justice – I highly recommend this company. Quick and responsive on email as well.

Amazing service! I used Premium Clean for an end of tenancy cleaning and they went above and beyond. Everyone here is so nice and knowledgeable. I had to make some last minute add ons and they were very flexible. The carpet cleaner is a must! They transitioned our whole flat to brand new.

I want to highlight the customer service provided by this company. The staff are friendly, kind, and genuinely care about their clients’ satisfaction. They ensure that every customer is happy with their services and are VERY responsive to any concerns.The cleaner, Timy, arrived a bit earlier than the scheduled time, which shows great punctuality and professionalism. She also took her shoes off. She brought a full range of products and equipment, including a full trolley!Timy did an absolutely outstanding job. She paid attention to every detail.. She cleaned all edges, corners, and even spots that are hard to reach. She went above and beyond by cleaning areas we hadn’t even expected, fully emptied and disinfected all drains, and completely removed ingrained limescale from the toilet edges.I highly recommend contacting their office to discuss your needs and ensure clear communication. I would also like to recommend Timy as she is an incredible cleaner. Very professional, friendly, humble, and honest!

Arrived on the dot. Scrubbed and scrubbed for three hours non-stop. Polite, professional and hard-working. Delighted with the deep clean. Fatima and Ilka were great. It’s a leap of faith choosing a cleaning company without a recommendation. I cross-checked Trust Pilot with Google reviews as some companies score well on one but not on the other. Premium Clean scored well on both. I noticed that some of the bigger providers with fancy software had poor recent reviews. It’s probably difficult to control quality with a high-volume business. So I chose Premium Clean based on their reviews, medium size and quick email replies. I also liked that they were very clear about what they do and don’t include in a deep clean, giving photos of what they consider a normal state of cleanliness that they will take on and what’s not. They were also flexible on my room requests. Delighted with my choice – excellent service and great results.

One of the best service providers in London I ever used. Professional staff rather than part-time students. If you are also comparing options, I would say this is better than large websites that outsource call centers for customer support.

Fantastic service! Five stars! Really easy to book, everyone was super helpful and friendly and professional . I needed an end of tenancy clean and carpet/upholstery clean. Premium clean did a fantastic job, absolutely transformed the space which had been left pretty dirty. Punctual, great communication, lovely people to deal with and they did a really superb job, I will definitely be using them from now on. I highly recommend this company!

I Highly recommend them! I Booked them for end of tenancy cleaning. Temi and Raya arrived on time, were super nice and professional but most importantly they cleaned up the flat spotlessly clean!!! I was so so impressed and so was my landlord. I had my flat inspection next day and received my deposit immediately that same day!Couldn’t be more happy with their service and quality.

Post builders clean after bathroom renovation- Dust was everywhere carpets were dirty. The team did a proper job. I found it value for money in that the level of cleaning and effort was high and I felt I got my house back after they had finished.
